Time to Start My Own Adult Children Events/Traditions?

So while our adult child was pondering which day she would come home from college I realized that perhaps it is time for me to begin adult child traditions. I am not sure why I had not thought about this already. My mother has traditions and events for adult children so why don't I?

I mean this allows her and our teenage son to know which dates that they must be home. Any extra they give me is a blessing and always welcomed (wink-wink). This also gives my husband and I their undivided attention. It makes it easy for them and us.

Prepared dates to be home will let them spend time with their friends and participate in school functions. It will also fulfill my need to still spend time with them. It  gives all of us something to look forward to. Life moves fast and I don't want to miss it!

Spending time with my mom is awesome! I would love to spend more time with her but like I said life moves fast and before I know it a week or month has gone by! My mom has events that make me stop and put aside that time and plan around it. It ensures that I get to spend time with her. It makes it easy....

So that is why I think it is time for my household to do the same. Of course my adult child does not have her own family yet so I can schedule more time. My thinking is a Saturday night and a Sunday night each month. One with friends allowed and the other just the family. This way we still get to meet the people she is spending time with but also gives me time with just my babies.

Do you have the same situations? I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

How Many Hours Do You Waste Looking for a Bottle or Cup?

I seriously do not know what happens to bottles and sippy cups in this house. With two children using them you would think you could find them sitting all over the house.... NO!!

I spend countless hours looking under beds, cribs, couches, in toys, kitchen cabinets, in my bed and all the various other hiding places for a stinking cup or bottle! We put locators on everything else why not children's cups or bottles? I don't understand. I can push a button to locate a big 2 ton car but not on a little 3 inch long cup. Uggghhh! I wish whatever is eating these items would please return them!

So how many hours do you spend looking for these items?
